School Experience Programme

Depending on if you want to be a Primary or Secondary School teacher you can gain 10 days experience in school at either Badgerbrook Primary School or Thomas Estley Community College. You will benefit from a carefully crafted programme of opportunities and input which include focussed time spent within departments or key stages, observing lessons from a number of experienced teachers, understand a variety of pastoral and safeguarding legislation and planning your next steps to becoming a teacher.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must have Maths and English (and Science for Primary) at GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent. Applicants must have, or be predicted to achieve, a minimum 2:2 in a degree. For Secondary your degree subject must be relevant to the subject you wish to teach (or sufficient A Level qualifications to enable you to progress your teaching training application with some subject knowledge enhancement support if appropriate).

Cost :  £200

This is payable prior to the start of the course. This includes all 10 days on the programme and your DBS check.

If you successfully gain a place on the TELA School Direct course in a shortage subject, some of this cost will be refundable.
