Develop the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to be a highly effective senior leader in a school.
The NPQSL consists of 6 face to face days and three twilight sessions. You’ll need to complete a number of interim school based learning tasks and a final assessment.
You should be in a leadership role with cross-school responsibilities, for example:
An experienced middle leader
A Deputy Head / Assistant Head
A Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)
Other senior staff
Pre task: Dual research task around whole school curriculum and intervention foci using impact based research and school data.

3: Strategy and improvement
4. Teaching and curriculum excellence
5. Managing resources and risks
6. working in partnership
The NPQSL also has focussed modules on East Midland priorities such as white working class boys and leadership in a faith school.
NPQSL 120 guided learning hours - 48 face to face hours, 12 hours self-study professional tasks, 6 hours coaching, 12 hours engagement with online learning platform, 42 hours workplace learning improvement project.
£1160 +VAT (TELA members receive a 30% discount on all NPQs)
*Scholarship funding—Funding is available to support teachers and leaders working in opportunity areas and category 5 and 6 areas to take the new NPQs. These areas include parts of Leicester City, Derby/shire, Nottingham/shire, Stoke and others.
You must have your Head Teachers full support to apply for NPQ's.
