Providing continuous training into year 1 NQT, year 2 RQT and steps into leadership.

This School Direct secondary PGCE combines school based and university based training, as well as personalised inputs and customised pedagogy and leadership training programme from the Thomas Estley Learning Alliance (TELA).

We pride ourselves on our successful history of Training the highest quality teachers

2013/14 – 9 Schools Direct Trainees – 100% pass rate

2014/15 – 12 Schools Direct Trainees – 100% pass rate

2015/16 – 17 Schools Direct Trainees – 100% pass rate

2016/17 – 18 Schools Direct Trainees

TELA Schools Direct course has a proven track record of getting the best out of trainees and setting them on the road to employment. Over 60% of our graduates go on to teach in a TELA alliance school. Our philosophy is to train teachers who we want to employ.

We have partnership schools across Leicestershire and work with three universities.

Subject Knowledge enhancement course

Don’t hold back from applying for teacher training in maths, physics, chemistry or a language because of your subject knowledge confidence. You may still be able to train to teach these subjects (and be eligible for the bursaries they attract) by building up or refreshing your existing knowledge with a subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) programme.
